Oboabona completes Rizespor's move

READ: Oboabona completes Rizespor move
Oboabona, 23, completed his move from
Sunshine Stars on Thursday, and said he turned
down approaches from England, Spain and
Germany to move to Turkey.
"I had offers from clubs like Southampton,
Watford, Cardiff, Sochaux, and some from
Germany but I decided to take this one because I
felt it was right for me.
"It will help to serve as a stepping stone for me
to do bigger things. It is going to help me a lot
and let people know the quality I have."
He added that guaranteed playing time was not a
consideration. "If you are a good player, your
quality will speak for you. You don't have to ask
for playing time in your contract. If you are good
enough, you will play."
Oboabona was a key component of the Nigerian
team that qualified for the African Nations
Championship for the first time, and his absence
leaves a big hole in the team, but the defender is
confident finding a replacement should be no
problem.
"I thank God for making me part of the team.
Nigeria have a lot of players, and I think I have
done my part and it is time for me to go, and I
pray by the special grace of God, they will win,"
he added.
